  • A visit no matter size and location to receive a face to face discussion over the risks your organisation may face day to day along with an explanation of appropriate insurance covers.
  • A market review including approaching a minimum of three insurers. We use our specialism and size to leverage the best deals for members.
  • Our understanding to risks involved in training, HR services, accountancy, social proscribing, community transport, events organising and many other activities common of a community support service.
  • Access to risk management guides on specialist topics for NAVCA members and their local groups.
  • Risk management support and training sessions for both NAVCA members and your members.

We help our clients with a wide range of additional needs. We help some clients to source appropriate policies, risk assessments or risk management support.

We would be delighted to discuss to any NAVCA member about how our expertise of providing insurance for Voluntary / Not for Profit groups would be of benefit to you.

Typical Risks

  • Public and Employers Liability Insurance is a must for any group.
  • We advise many groups that are involved in discharging professional services such as HR advice, accounts support or bid writing services – For these groups, robust Professional Indemnity Insurance is very important
  • Some groups may be responsible for the building where they operate from, making sure the sums insured under this section is crucial should you ever suffer a total loss. We can offer assistance with access to an online rebuild survey.
  • We are able to support NAVCA members not just with expert help on their own insurances but by providing resources for their members too.  Feedback on our training courses is always strong.

Voluntary Action Group / Council for Voluntary Service Insurance

Voluntary Action Group / Councils for Voluntary Service Insurance – VA Groups and CVS Groups aim to provide help, advice, training and support to their local third sector groups.

At Ladbrook, we work with a large number of such groups, advising them on their own insurances and in some instances, providing useful resources for their member groups too. We provide independent broking advice working with 40 different insurers.

While the aims of each Voluntary Action Group might be similar, often the services provided differ. Some provide HR, bid writing or accountancy support for which professional indemnity insurance is a must. Others provide training and events for their members and nearly all act as a facilities manager.
We would be delighted to talk to any VA / CVS group about how our experience of providing insurance for voluntary action groups can be of value to you.

We also understand the pressures VA / CVS Group faces.  Increasing demands for services delivered locally means that memebrs of VA / CVS groups are under increasing pressure.  Yet, at the same time, cuts to local authority and other funding sources have meant that VA / CVS groups have had to work extremely hard to provide the invaluable support locally.

For many community groups, their local Voluntary Action Group is the source of much of the professional advice that they need.  Whether they wand to network, get advice on their structure, support around their governance, accountancy, HR or bid writing – VA’s around the country are providing incredible support for local groups that want to make a difference in their community.

At Ladbrook we have provided voluntary action group insurance for a wide range of organisations across the UK.  Our advice will cover the Public and Employers Liability essential for each group but we will conduct a full review of the risks your group faces, paying particular attention to the Professional Indemnity requirements and then use our access to leading charity insurance products to source competitive cover that gives your group peace of mind.

In addition, we have deepened our relationship with a number of VA and CVS groups to support them with a range of activities.  We have produced materials that have been of use for groups, sponsored events, provided training sessions on risk management or elements of insurance and generally engaged in any useful way required.

We would be delighted to hear from your CVS / VA group.

Customer Reviews

Nova is pleased to be working in partnership with Ladbrook Insurance to provide expert information to our members about the risks they may face when running their organisations and delivering their activities.

Ian Cockerill, CEO, NOVA Wakefield District Limited

Just to say thank you so much for today – the information was informative, engaging and very well presented. I was delighted you came and like you say, made a very boring and dry subject very interesting and I can’t thank you enough.

Collette Watson, Community Funding Development, Amber Valley CVS

Voluntary Action Epping Forest have been a client of Ladbrook Insurance since 2000. We have a policy that states, ‘Where there is a historical arrangement to use one supplier, this will be reviewed at least every three years to ensure VAEF is receiving best value for money.’

We abide by this policy and despite shopping around we have yet to find a supplier who have beaten Ladbrook on price. So given the excellent personal service we regularly receive, not just at renewal time but throughout the year (their knowledge of the charity sector is invaluable), we continue to use and to recommend them.
