Animal Rescue Insurance
Animal Sanctuaries have all of the traditional insurance risks we would associate with a charity blended with the unique aspects of working with animals. Animal rescue carries it’s own risks, often with vehicles on the road. Fundraising is also a key aspect to the life of an animal shelter. Many of the animal shelters that we work with engage in a wide range of fundraising activities from fun days to rattling buckets and seeking donations of money or food.
We have helped a wide range of animal charities including:
- Cat rehoming charities
- Dog rehoming charities (we do not insure dog only rescues)
- Animal Shelters
- City Farms
- Animal rescue charities
- Fundraising for animal causes
- Bird rescue
- Animal Sanctuaries
We work with a range of charities that are involved in rehoming and fostering of various animals. We will discuss the risks involved and the level of cover that is available to your animal support group. Once an animal is rehomed, it is not usual for insurers to provide any cover, however, some charities rehome animals with volunteers and the liability of the group to those volunteers can sometimes be insured. Public liability insurance will protect the group from allegations made by members of the public but employers liability insurance is required to provide the same cover for volunteers.
Insurers take different views on the cover they will offer and animal charities often have different needs, directed by their activities (rehoming / animal shelter / animal rescue). We will always discuss the cover that your group requires before making our recommendation for your animal charity insurance.
