Typical Risks

  • Public Liability Insurance: Essential for protecting your dance school in case a participant makes a claim for an injury sustained during a session. We also recommend Employers’ Liability Insurance, which includes coverage for volunteers.
  • Third-Party Premises: If your dance school operates in a rented or third-party venue, public liability insurance can offer protection if the property owner seeks compensation for damage to the building.
  • Safeguarding Considerations: Many dance schools work with children, making DBS checks and a safeguarding policy important considerations.
  • Equipment & Costumes: If your dance school owns valuable equipment or costumes, insuring these assets can help cover the cost of replacements. We can assist in identifying the appropriate coverage for your needs.

Dance School Insurance

Many dance schools and academies across the UK operate on a not-for-profit basis, a fact that is not widely recognised. This means they function similarly to charities, organising events and activities for community benefit without financial gain. Unfortunately, this lack of awareness can make it challenging for them to obtain the support they need.

Managing Director

Within any Organisation, Charity or Community Group, we all hope that no situation is to arise where insurance is needed to support an aligation or claim but in todays day and age it is increasingly more important to have adequate insurance cover in place, in the unfortunate event of something not going to plan. At Ladbrook, we aim to make this process as pain-free as possible.

Customer Reviews

Charlotte has handled our insurance renewals for nine years now.  As a new Charity taking over a Community Library in 2015, it was scary navigating through compliance matter such as insurance.  Charlotte steered and helped us through in those early days and has been with us ever since.  She is always available; always responds in a timely manner and we never feel any question or query is silly.  She is a reassuring presence in our Operation.  We feel she goes the extra mile to understand our ever increasing financial and regulatory pressures of an entirely volunteer led Charity.

Friends of Wandon Recreation Park found representatives of Ladbrook Insurance to be very professional, but at the same time extremely helpful and took time in understanding what our insurance needs were and the best policy for us. We would highly recommend Ladbroke Insurance.

What a delight to work with Tim and his team. Totally professional, they responded rapidly to an urgent insurance requirement for our club after our previous insurers let us down badly. Tim took a real interest in what we do and came up with an ideal policy at a great price in record time. Thank you!

Insurance for Dance Groups & Schools

Types of Cover

  • Public Liability Insurance: Protects the group financially in the event of a claim for damage or injury to a member of the public. However, most insurers do not extend this coverage to volunteers.
  • Employers’ Liability Insurance: To ensure volunteers are covered, dance groups must include a level of employers’ liability insurance—even if they do not have paid employees.
  • Additional Cover Options: While liability insurance is often the primary requirement, additional coverage can be considered for assets or advice-related activities (as standard public liability insurance does not cover advisory services).

If your dance school is involved in any gymnastics, acrobatics, throwing and aerial activity (particularly on wires or cables) or the use of pyrotechnics please make us aware of this as some insurers will not cover these types of activities.

At Ladbrook, we tailor insurance to your dance school’s unique needs, ensuring you receive the most appropriate coverage.
