Car Club Insurance

With a recent growing number of car enthusiasts many have come together to create car clubs. Whether its brand specific, model specific or modification specific, these groups meet all over the country. Some of the locations where they look to hold a meet, request the group look to get insurance.

Car Club meets carry risks not just associated with the cars themselves which are worth considering. These could include damage to the site caused by members of the group or injury to a person, possibly due to tools being left out.

With this in mind, we can discuss your Car Clubs insurance needs whether it is just the one meet or something you look to carry out various times over the course of a year:

Typical Risks

  • Damage to third party property caused by members of the group outside of the use of a vehicle.
  • The group may own equipment such as a gazebo, we can look to cover both damage to these items and injuries resulting from them (i.e gazebo falling down).
  • Some groups have volunteers who help to run these events, we can look to provide cover in the instance of a volunteer being injured.

With a recent rise of claims brought against groups, it is best for these groups to ensure all their risks are covered not just the motor aspect.

Car Club Insurance – Niche Risks

Volunteering is a key aspect to Car Clubs which many do not realise, by doing anything more than attending activites and events a member is then classed as a volunteer. This may not seem like a key risk however should the group not hold the correct cover they could face being personally liable should a volunteer make a claim.

As a charity / not-for-profit specialists, we have first-hand experience in understanding how different one group can be to the next. This is why we would look to support you in ensuring your group is correctly insured and has peace of mind in the cover they hold. Some of the risks that only a few groups may face can include:

  • Money cover if the group were to collect donations / fees from those who attend the event.
  • Event cancellation cover should the meet be one large event rather than a series of meets
  • Trustee Indemnity cover should the committee / trustees of a car meet club be concerned with regards to their personal liability for the management of the group.
  • Cyber Cover should a group hold personal information on members such as medical information, address and other details.

Customer Reviews

Nova is pleased to be working in partnership with Ladbrook Insurance to provide expert information to our members about the risks they may face when running their organisations and delivering their activities.

Ian Cockerill, CEO, NOVA Wakefield District Limited

Just to say thank you so much for today – the information was informative, engaging and very well presented. I was delighted you came and like you say, made a very boring and dry subject very interesting and I can’t thank you enough.

Collette Watson, Community Funding Development, Amber Valley CVS

Voluntary Action Epping Forest have been a client of Ladbrook Insurance since 2000. We have a policy that states, ‘Where there is a historical arrangement to use one supplier, this will be reviewed at least every three years to ensure VAEF is receiving best value for money.’

We abide by this policy and despite shopping around we have yet to find a supplier who have beaten Ladbrook on price. So given the excellent personal service we regularly receive, not just at renewal time but throughout the year (their knowledge of the charity sector is invaluable), we continue to use and to recommend them.
