The Team at Ladbrook’s are now Dementia Friends
After a recent visit from one of our clients and a long, healthy discussion about Dementia, the different forms of Dementia and how it affects not just the person but their family and friends we unanimously agreed it might be time we all looked to further our knowledge on the subject.
So how did we find the training?
The training received from a local Dementia Friend Alison North was superb to say the least. After discussions on a whole range of topics we all agreed we felt much more comfortable in understanding the main symptoms, the main forms and how they can occur. One of the biggest misconceptions we had as an office was that this occurs only in older individuals when in reality it can affect anyone at any time.
The purpose of the training
The team agreed to undergo the training for two reasons:
- To better understand Dementia as a whole and help others further understand just what it means to suffer with this.
- To better understand our clients that offer support to both Dementia Patients but also Carers for Dementia Patients as following the training we now better understand just the stress and pressure that both may feel day to day.
The Overall Verdict
Overall, we are happy we undertook the learning and would like to thank the folks over at Forget Me Not Cafe for pointing us in the way of Dementia Friends. As we continue to work alongside groups that aim to provide support to Families/Friends/Carers or Patients effected by Dementia we will further look to better our understanding to provide the best advice we can along with better understanding the risks
