Fundraising and Finance During the Covvid Crisis

The current coronavirus pandemic has caused many social enterprise, charitable and voluntary groups to lose sources of income. For many groups, the loss of income now threatens their existence. This at a time, where some will experience a complete drop off in demand for services, some an increase and some groups simply unable to offer services.

On 8th April, the chancellor announced additional measures to support charities. These are in addition to the package of announcements already made.

If you are in this situation, what can you do to help yourselves? We list here some of the options you might explore. We recommend the following resources for finding more information:

Good Finance

We recommend this write up from Good Finance which analyses some of the government support available as well as providing information on:

  • Resilience and Recovery Loan Fund
  • Coronavirus Business Interruption Loan Scheme (CBILS)
  • Community Investment Enterprise Facility (CIEF)

They also have a diagnostic tool to see if such funding is suitable for you: https://www.goodfinance.org.uk/wizard/profiler

Blackbaud Fundraising Hub

Just because your activities have ceased, does not mean that you cannot raise voluntary income funds. This hub from Blackbaud really does a good job in providing case studies and guidance into campaigns that can work during lockdown.

Charity Bank – Resource List
